The Moment It Became Real

There’s something quietly magical about holding your own book in your hands for the first time.

Not the digital file, not the drafts, not the endless edits — but the real, physical copies. Pages you can turn. A cover you can touch. A story that, for so long, lived only in your thoughts.

This week, I finally experienced that moment.

I placed a few copies of The Dilemma on my desk and paused. Not just to look at them, but to reflect.

Because this wasn’t written overnight.

It started as a small idea, planted years ago. An idea that stayed with me, grew slowly, and asked for time, patience, and commitment.

Between work in corporate environments, daily responsibilities, and life’s constant movement, I kept returning to it — sometimes with confidence, often with doubt. There were long pauses, moments of questioning, and times when continuing felt uncertain.

But also:

  • moments of clarity

  • creativity that surprised me

  • and a quiet discipline that I didn’t know I had.

Writing this book became more than a creative project. It became a way of exploring another side of myself — one that exists alongside the professional, structured world I’ve always been part of.

And maybe that’s what this moment represents the most.

Not just a finished book, but the reminder that growth often happens in parallel — in the spaces we choose to nurture, even when life is already full.

If there’s one thing this journey taught me, it’s this: consistency matters more than perfection.

I’m grateful to have brought The Dilemma to life with FriesenPress, and even more grateful for everything the process taught me along the way.

For those who would like to explore it, the book is now available here:

And if you’re working on something quietly, in your own time — keep going. Even slow progress has a way of becoming something real!
