Hello valuable mommies!
As a busy mom, some days feel like I’m starring in a never-ending episode of “Survival: Chores Island.” Between the dishes that multiply like rabbits, the toys that magically reappear after I’ve just cleaned them up, and the constant chorus of “Mom! Mom! MOM!”—it’s easy to feel like I’m running on fumes. Motivation? Some days, it packs its bags and heads for the hills.
But here’s the good news: I’ve found a few powerful (and surprisingly simple) ways to reignite that inner spark and get back on track—even when the chaos is at full volume. If you’re feeling stuck in the daily grind, here are my top five go-to strategies to rediscover your motivation and reclaim your energy. Trust me, if I can do it with a toddler on my hip and lentils in my hair, so can you!
1. Declutter something. Anything
Top strategy (and super easy to do immediately) when you feel overwhelmed. Seriously, look around, and pick one thing to declutter. That junk drawer you haven’t opened since 2019? The avalanche of clothes on “the chair”? Even just clearing out five old emails from your inbox counts.
Why? Because decluttering isn’t just about tidying up your space—it’s MOSTLY about clearing mental fog. That tiny act of order sends a powerful message to your brain: You’re in control. Suddenly, you’re reclaiming your peace of mind, one item at a time.
So go ahead. Declutter something. Anything. Right now. None in this world can argue that a beautifully organized space can inspire motivation...

2. You should be dancing.....Yeah!!!
Actually, any physical activity helps—but dancing? That’s Pure Magic. Put on your favorite dance music and just move. No choreography, no rules—just you, the beat, and maybe a few questionable dance moves (which are 100% encouraged). Singing along? Optional, but highly recommended for bonus joy points.
In just 3–4 minutes, the frazzled, stressed-out version of you will be replaced by the joyful, carefree one. (Need me to spell out which version your kids prefer? Yeah, didn’t think so.)
Now, let’s be clear: dancing will not help you feel more organized or in control. But it will shrink your problems/worries/anxiety down to size. Suddenly, that mountain of chores looks -not that scary- and a lot more manageable. So go ahead—press play and dance it out.
Oh, and thank you to Bee Gees for spreading wisdom through their lyrics!
3. Connect with Nature
If you’re lucky enough to live near the sea, take full advantage—walk along the shore, dip your toes in the water and feel the salt and iodine melt your worries away. The ocean has a way of reminding us how small our problems really are. But even if the beach isn’t within reach, nature is still calling.
A walk through a forest, a quiet moment by a lake, or even a stroll through your local park can work wonders. Studies show that spending time in nature—especially barefoot—helps us feel grounded, connected, and significantly less stressed. It’s like plugging ourselves back into the Earth’s energy source.
So step outside. Breathe deeply. Let the wind clear your mind and the trees remind you to stand tall. Everything feels a little easier when you’re walking with Mother Nature by your side.

4. The Magic List
When everything feels like a chaotic blur and you don’t even know where to begin—make a list. Seriously, it’s the fastest way I know to shift from “I’m drowning” to “I’ve got this.” It takes less than a minute, and the effect is literally instant.
Grab a piece of paper or open a notes app, and write down everything that’s swirling in your head. Big tasks, small ones, even the silly stuff—get it all out. Suddenly, what felt like a mountain becomes a series of manageable steps. Seeing your tasks written down makes them feel less intimidating, and your brain can finally breathe. Plus, the visual layout helps you prioritize without the mental gymnastics.
It’s simple. It’s powerful. And yes—it’s a little bit magical.
5. Prioritize self care
Through the years, I've learned the (very) hard way that caring for myself isn’t indulgent—it’s essential. When we skip self-care, our motivation fizzles out and everything starts to feel heavier than it really is. So make a conscious choice to carve out time for yourself each week. Even just a little bit.
Take a walk, enjoy a bubble bath, or dive into a novel. These moments will recharge you and enhance your energy and mental clarity. Think of self-care as fuel for your soul—it doesn’t have to be fancy, just intentional. And remember: when you take care of yourself, you show up better for everyone else too. A well-rested, nourished, and centered you is unstoppable.
So, these are my five go-to strategies—true lifesavers that have consistently helped me rediscover my motivation, especially since stepping into the wild, wonderful world of motherhood.
Remember, feeling stuck at times is completely normal. What counts is taking that first step to reconnect with our drive. As moms, we juggle a lot, and nurturing ourselves is as important as caring for our families. Let's work toward building a motivated and fulfilling life, one small step at a time!
Love, Katerina
